2024 Democratic National Convention to be Held in Chicago
Democrats to Nominate Presidential Candidates in August
The Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago, Illinois from August 19 to 22, 2024.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced the location and dates of the convention on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The convention will be held at the United Center, home of the NBA's Chicago Bulls and NHL's Chicago Blackhawks.
The convention will be the first major political event to be held in Chicago since the 1968 Democratic National Convention, which was marred by protests and violence. The DNC is expected to draw tens of thousands of delegates, alternates, and visitors to the city.
The Democratic Party is expected to nominate President Joe Biden for a second term at the convention. Biden has not yet officially announced his candidacy, but he is widely expected to seek re-election.
The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from July 15 to 18, 2024.
